Intel Mapper is an independent, real-time OSINT war map covering the Middle East and the war in Ukraine. Reports from official military channels, established OSINT accounts and state agencies are collected continuously, parsed by an AI analysis pipeline, geolocated through five verification layers and plotted on a live map — with confidence levels and sources shown for every event.
Intel Mapper is built and operated by a solo independent developer. It is not affiliated with any government, military or media organisation, and does not take editorial positions — the map shows reported events, not narratives.
The project is funded by Patreon supporters, one-time Buy Me a Coffee donations and light advertising for free visitors. Supporters get an ad-free experience plus advanced tools (3D terrain, flight tracking, archive replay, CSV export).
Intel Mapper publishes only what can be tied to a dated, sourced report. Every event on the map records its original source, the number of independent channels reporting it, and a confidence score that reflects how many sources agree and how precise the location is. We do not publish unverified casualty figures as fact, we label single-source claims as such, and we mark uncertain locations with an orange ring rather than a hard pin. Corrections are made in place: when a location, actor or event type is found to be wrong, the event is updated and the change is noted on its page; our correction bot on X posts the fix publicly.
Daily briefs are written from the day's verified events by the Intel Mapper editorial process (automated drafting reviewed by the operator) and always link back to the underlying event pages and original reporting. Explainer articles under /reports/ are original pieces; where they draw on outside work it is cited. We use no paid placement, and advertising never influences what is mapped. Full details of scoring and geolocation are on the methodology page.
