Sharhorod, Ukraine — Drone Transit location map

What happened

Ukrainian air monitoring systems detected one Russian jet-powered Shahed (Geran-3) drone in transit toward Sharhorod, a settlement in Vinnytsia Oblast, on 13 October at 13:29 UTC. The alert was issued by the Ukrainian Air Force command via Telegram. The drone's origin point was not specified in the report.

Context and assessment

Sharhorod lies in central Ukraine's Vinnytsia Oblast, roughly 200 kilometres west of the front lines. On the same day and minute, Ukrainian monitoring detected at least four other Geran-3 drones headed toward nearby settlements in the region—Mohyliv-Podilskyy, Kryzhopil, Dunayivtsi, Husiatyn, and Yarmolyntsi—suggesting a coordinated or near-simultaneous multi-drone operation targeting the Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts. The Geran-3 is a jet-powered variant of the Iranian Shahed family and is commonly used for strikes against infrastructure and civilian areas at extended range. This pattern indicates Russian strike activity aimed at Ukrainian rear areas rather than front-line positions.

Sources and confidence

Reported by the Ukrainian Air Force command (@kpszsu) via Telegram. Single official source with high institutional credibility. Confidence score of 8.0 reflects the authoritative nature of the source but absence of independent cross-confirmation. Confirmation from multiple monitoring services or visual evidence of the drone would increase confidence; loss of tracking signal without impact report would lower it.

Location

Sharhorod is a settlement in central Vinnytsia Oblast, at approximately 48.74°N, 28.08°E.
